From April 28th to 30th, the Faculty of Interpretation, Composition, and Theoretical Musical Studies at the “George Enescu” National University of Arts in Iași transformed into a vibrant hub of jazz education. The university proudly hosted an exceptional educational event, featuring a masterclass led by the renowned American saxophonist and professor, Rick Condit. This intensive workshop was meticulously designed for students with a fervent passion for jazz, offering them a unique opportunity to hone their skills and deepen their understanding of the genre.
The Jazz Masterclass was organized by Prof. PhD. Dan Spînu and Teaching Assist. PhD. Robert Cozma, active promoters of jazz development within the Romanian academic environment.
Contemporary Jazz and Improvisation Techniques – Straight from the Source
Indeed, the jazz masterclass offered an invaluable opportunity, particularly for aspiring jazz composers and pop musicians. Consequently, these young musicians directly accessed Rick Condit’s extensive knowledge and deep experience. A seasoned performer and educator steeped in the American jazz tradition, he, furthermore, shared practical and inspiring insights gleaned from years of performance and teaching.
